Li Zhaoxing Meets with Singapore Foreign Minister
On November 18 2004, Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing met with his Singapore counterpart Yang Rongwen while attending the 16th APEC Ministerial Meeting.
Yong emphasized that Singapore upholds the one China policy, opposes ?Taiwan Independence? and will not do anything that will help to fuel ?Taiwan Independence?. This is the foundation of the development of Singapore-China relations. The Singapore side hopes to push forward the bilateral relations together with the Chinese side.
Li appreciated the Singapore sides for upholding one China and against the stand of ?Taiwan Independence?. He also emphasized that the Chinese side is willing to develop the China-Singapore relations on the basis of the one China principle.
